Rebuild Michigan Community Partner Service Incentives The Michigan Energy Office is offering incentives including technical support and rebates to Rebuild Michigan Community Partnerships (RMCPs) to promote energy efficiency and renewable energy use within their communities beginning on October 1, 2008. | Michigan Energy Overview for 2007 Given the focus on energy today, the Michigan Public Service Commission and the Michigan Department of Labor & Economic Growth prepared a report exploring the state's energy resources and energy use for 2007. Energy use is categorized by source, sector and how consumption has grown over time. The report also identifies how much Michigan residents and businesses spend on energy; which in 2007 totaled approximately $37 billion. | 2009 Energy Star Home Grants for Builders Application The goal of this program is to encourage energy efficiency and innovation in the design and construction of new houses. Financial incentives are available to five builders constructing Energy Star rated homes. The houses must be built by August 30, 2009. It is expected that five grants will be awarded for $5,000. A total of $25,000 is available for the program.

More about the Energy Office
Program activities are designed to encourage the use of new technologies and alternative fuels in buildings, industrial processes, vehicles and in power generation. Program objectives are advanced through a variety of services, including information dissemination, technical assistance, financial assistance and demonstration projects. The primary funding source for Energy Office activities is the U.S. Department of Energy. The Energy Office operates jointly within the Michigan Office of Policy and Legislative Affairs (OPLA) a division of the MI Department of Labor & Economic Growth (DLEG). | | Click here for News and Information Archive |
