July 29, 2008
The Michigan Public Service Commission (MPSC) today authorized The Detroit Edison Company to implement a temporary 2008 power supply cost recovery (PSCR) factor.
Noting a $43 million under-recovery, the utility on June 4 filed a motion for entry of a temporary order authorizing a 11.22 mills per kilowatt-hour (kWh) PSCR factor to remain in effect until the MPSC issues its final order in this case.
In granting the utility's request, the MPSC noted that the temporary PSCR factor approved today will minimize future rate increases and carrying charges paid by customers.
The MPSC is an agency within the Department of Labor & Economic Growth.
