Anatomy of a MurderAnatomy of a Murder 50th Anniversary Celebration
Join us for a special celebration of Robert Traver's Anatomy of a Murder. John Voelker wrote the bestselling novel under the pen name Robert Traver and published it in 1958. Voelker was a Michigan Supreme Court justice who had also been a defense attorney and a prosecutor. He based the novel one of his own cases. The novel established the popular genre of the legal thriller, became an Academy Award winning movie, and is the model for courtroom dramas.

This special celebration of his achievement will include presentations on the significance of Anatomy of a Murder, John Voelker's interest in fly fishing, short films on Voelker and exhibits focusing on Voelker and his writings. Events are scheduled in Lansing for Friday, Sept. 26 and Saturday, Sept. 27 and in Marquette and Ishpeming for Sept. 18, 19, 26 and 29 as well as Oct. 14 and 20. All events are free and open to the public.
