LANSING, October 31, 2007 – Charles Conn of
Niles claimed his huge $2 million prize that he won at the Lottery's
$2 million instant games grand prize drawing at Ford Field on Oct. 21.
The lucky man was still in shock with his win
when he claimed his prize at Lottery Central in Lansing. He told Lottery
officials that he still doesn't know how he'll spend his winnings.
Conn was one of five finalists from around the
state who participated in the drawing during the third quarter of the Detroit
Lions-Tampa Bay Buccaneers game. The five were chosen from a pool of 793 players
who had won $1,000 on one of the Lottery's $20 Instant tickets: "Mega Bucks
Jackpot", "2,000,000 Cash Winfall", "Millionaire's Club", "$2,000,000
Explosion", and "$35,000,000 Riches".
The remaining four finalists, who each received
$5,000, were Connie Keely of Sterling, Melody Rose of Pickford, Charles
Weatherholt of Rockwood and John Ouellette of Monroe.
All proceeds from the Lottery are contributed to
the state School Aid Fund which supports kindergarten through 12th grade public
education in Michigan. In fiscal year 2006, the contribution was $688 million.
