The Agriculture Development Division (AgD) brings connection and focus to assorted agricultural economic development programs. The primary goal is to strengthen the family farm and enhance opportunities for the food and agriculture industry, especially in rural Michigan.

Programs
Agricultural Alliances - AgD is a member of several agricultural alliances among producers, industry organizations and other agencies.
Export and New Market Development Program (ENMDP) - The Divison strives to promote the export of Michigan's agricultural commodities, value-added goods and other products. AgD also helps to identify and facilitate the development of new domestic and international markets.
Michigan Grape and Wine Industry Council - The Council provides for research, education and the promotion of the Michigan wine grape and wine industry, stimulating value-added, sustainable agriculture. www.michiganwines.com
Organic Industry Assistance - A 17-member Organic Foods Advisory Committee is developing a statewide strategic plan for the future of organic food production and marketing.
Value-Added Processing - AgD encourages farmers to add more value to agricultural crops within the state; for example, soybeans into soybean oil.
