On October 1, 2009, the Office of Drug Control Policy was abolished. Administration for substance abuse services and problem gambling programs remains with the Bureau of Substance Abuse & Addiction Services (BSAAS) in the Mental Health & Substance Abuse Administration.
On October 26, 2009, administration for the Byrne Justice Assistance Grant, the Residential Substance Abuse Treatment for State Prisoners Grant, and the Paul Coverdell Forensic Science Improvement Act will be transferred to the Department of State Police. On October 26, 2009, administration for Safe and Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act School Formula Grants and Governor's Discretionary Grants will be transferred to the Department of Education. Until that time, information can still be found on our Education page.
These changes are a result of Executive Orders 2009-02 and 2009-42.
