New Medicare Prescription Drug Program Begins January 1, 2006

The Michigan Department of Community Health wants you to know that change is coming from Medicare and it will affect Medicaid customers who are disabled or elderly.

Medicare's new prescription drug program is replacing Medicaid's pharmacy benefit for the disabled, for low-income adults over 65 years old, and for Elder Prescription Insurance Coverage (EPIC) participants.

To continue your pharmacy benefits without interuption, you should enroll in a Medicare Prescription Drug Plan by December 31, 2005.
