MDOT to host public meeting on proposed
I-96 reconstruction project in Wayne County

WHAT: An open house-style meeting to gather input on potential alternatives for the future I-96 reconstruction between Newburgh and Telegraph roads in the communities of Redford and Livonia. The meeting will present various options for future construction planning and ask for input from the public on preferences.

BACKGROUND: This 7-mile-long project is currently being designed. Proposed work includes reconstructing the pavement, installing new utilities, and improving 36 overpasses above the freeway.
Construction is not yet scheduled but could begin as early as winter 2013.
