Welcome and Opening Remarks
Keith brings a vision of
revitalization to the Authority. Keith has served as Interim
Director since April of 2008 and was officially appointed by the MSHDA Board of
Directors on September 24, 2008.
His vision for a 21st century MSHDA centers around ideas to improve the quality of life for Michigan residents by focusing on providing safe and affordable housing through homeownership and rental programs, ending homelessness, and revitalizing neighborhoods and downtowns through urban development initiatives; all of which will create vibrant communities in Michigan.
As former director of the Michigan Departments of Labor and Commerce under Governor William G. Milliken, he is no stranger to state government. He also served at one time as a member of the MSHDA board during the Milliken administration.
Keith has been involved in public policy issues, including economic development, housing, and urban redevelopment all invaluable experience to bring to the housing and community development industry in Michigan.
His leadership and management skills have been honed by a long career as Senior Associate Director of Athletics at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and most recently a interim in a similar position at the University of Pittsburgh.
Mark A. Murray President, Meijer, Inc.
Keynote Speaker
Mark A. Murray is President of Meijer, Inc. in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Meijer operates a chain of 185 self-service combination supermarket-discount department stores located in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Illinois and Kentucky.
Mark was President of Grand Valley State University from 2001-2006, following a two-decade career in state government and education. During his years in state government Mr. Murray served as State Treasurer, State Budget Director, director of the Department of Management and Budget, and acting director of the Family Independence Agency. He also served as Vice President for Finance and Administration at Michigan State University.
Mr. Murray received his master's degree in Labor and Industrial Relations and his bachelor's degree in Economics, both from Michigan State University.

Rob Hazelton

Presenting information on Energy Efficient and Green Buildings
Rob Hazelton is President of Dominion Due Diligence Group (D3G). D3G, started in 1994, focuses on due diligence inspections for affordable housing finance, and has been fortunate to work in all 50 States and with every HUD office in the nation. Last year alone, D3G assisted in the rehabilitation, new construction and refinancing of more than 75,000 housing units involving a mixture of FHA, USDA Rural Development, LIHTC and bond deals.
Frederick J. Hutchins
President, EPS, Inc.
Frederick is President of EPS, Inc., a nationwide TRACS and MTCS Service Bureau.
EPS provides monthly TRACS voucher review for five PBCA State
Contract Administrators, including Michigan and three traditional non-PBCA, Contract Administrators. ESP provides TRACS services to owners and agents of subsidized housing communities nationwide, and MTCS/PIC Public Housing reporting for more than 20 public housing entities.

Lucie Du
President, Du & Associates
Ms. Lucie Du, President of Du & Associates, Inc. has been involved in the asset management and underwriting of HUD insured and HUD subsidized loans and properties for over 20 years. In the last nine years, she has served as Co-Managing Director of Michigan Multifamily Asset Managers (MMAM) and Pennsylvania Multifamily Asset Managers (PMAM), the Du/Reznick Team's PBCA operations in Michigan and Pennsylvania respectively. Her company provides ongoing asset management, underwriting, financing, Mark to Market restructuring, health care consulting and other services to a wide range of clients including State HFAs, PHAs, multifamily owners and mortgagees.
Ms. Du has an MBA in Finance and bachelors degrees in Accounting and Economics.
Susie Sapilewski
Project Manager, Department of Housing and Urban Development
Susie has been employed with the Department of Housing and Urban Development since 1991. She began her career at HUD as a housing technician and has since served in many different roles. Currently, she serves as the Supervisory Project Manager for the Grand Rapids Multifamily Housing Division as well as a preservation team leader for the state of Michigan. Susie holds both a bachelor's degree in Psychology and an MBA from Grand Valley State University.
Sarah Rockafellow MichiganState Housing Development Authority
Sarah has been employed with MSDHA since April 2000. She currently works in the Performance Based Contracts Administration program where she oversees the TRACS/HAP area for 390+ properties. She graduated with a degree in Business Administration with a Major in Logistics from Central Michigan University. She has also completed the Certified Assisted Housing Manager training.
