From February 2 - 13, more than 70 law enforcement agencies participated in the sixth Operation Verify, a joint initiative aimed at increasing compliance with Michigan's sex offender law. During the sweep, officers conducted compliance checks at the residences' of 2,220 registered offenders.

From October 20 - 31, nearly 100 law enforcement agencies participated in the fifth Operation Verify, a joint initiative aimed at increasing compliance with Michigan's sex offender law. During the sweep, officers conducted compliance checks at the residences' of 3,194 registered offenders.

July 2008 Enforcement Initiative
From July 16 - 30, seven law enforcement agencies in
34 counties across northern Michigan participated in a Sex Offender Registry enforcement sweep. During the sweep, officers conducted compliance checks at the residences' of 650 registered offenders.
Results:
- 447 offenders were found in compliance with the
Michigan Sex Offender Registration Act
- Officers arrested 13 non-compliant offenders
- Warrants are being sought for an additional 23 offenders found non-compliant
April 2008 Enforcement Initiative
From April 16 - 30, nearly 50
law enforcement agencies in 29 counties across Lower Michigan, participated in a Sex Offender Registry enforcement sweep. During the sweep, officers conducted compliance checks at the residences of 2,665 registered offenders.
Results:
- 1,608 offenders were found in compliance with the
Michigan Sex Offender Registration Act
- Officers arrested 61 non-compliant offenders (51 for registry violations and 10 for other violations)
- Warrants are being sought for an additional 251 offenders found non-compliant
