Location and Hours

The Office of the Great Seal is located at 108 South Washington Square in downtown Lansing.  Office hours are Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. (except on state recognized holidays). Please arrive at least one hour prior to closing to allow sufficient time to process your documents. Parking is available on Washington Street, or any of the side streets, such as Capitol, Michigan, or Grand.

Walk-in, same-day service is available Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., and 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

This office does not provide notary public services.  Please have your documents notarized prior to submission to this office.

Directions

North from Alpena:  Follow US-23 South to M 32.  Take M 32 to M 33.  Follow M 33 to I-75 South. Take I-75 South to I-69 East/West towards Flint/Port Huron/Lansing.  Follow I-69 West towards Lansing to US-127 South.  Take US-127 to I-496 to Downtown Lansing.  Follow I-496 to Grand Ave., exit 7A.  Turn right on Grand Ave., and follow it north to Michigan Ave.  Turn left on Michigan Ave., continue to the first stop sign. Turn left on Washington St., and our building will be on the right.

From Mt. Pleasant:  Follow 27 BR towards M-20.  Take the US-27 South ramp.  Merge onto US-27 South.  Take the I-69 East exit to US-127 South.  Follow US-127 to I-496 Downtown Lansing exit.  Follow I-496 to Grand Ave., exit 7A.  Turn right on Grand Ave., and follow it north to Michigan Ave.  Turn left on Michigan Ave., continue to the first stop sign. Turn left on Washington St., and our building will be on the right.

From Traverse City:  Follow US-31 to M 37.  Take M 115 to US-10 BR to US-10 East.  Take US-27 South to Bay City/Lansing.  Follow US-27 South.  Take the I-69 East exit to US-127 South.  Follow US-127 to I-496 Downtown Lansing exit.  Follow I-496 to Grand Ave., exit 7A.  Turn right on Grand Ave., and follow it north to Michigan Ave.  Turn left on Michigan Ave., continue to the first stop sign. Turn left on Washington St., and our building will be on the right.

East from Detroit:  Follow I-96 West to Lansing.  Take I-496 to downtown Lansing.  Take the Grand Ave. exit, number 7A.  Turn right on Grand Ave., and follow it north to Michigan Ave.  Turn left on Michigan Ave., continue to the first stop sign. Turn left on Washington St, and our building will be on the right.

From Flint:  Follow I-69 West to Lansing.  Take I-69 to US-127 South.  Follow US-127 to I-496 Downtown Lansing exit.  Follow I-496 to Grand Ave., exit 7A.  Turn right on Grand Ave., and follow it north to Michigan Ave.  Turn left on Michigan Ave., continue to the first stop sign. Turn left on Washington St., and our building will be on the right.

South from Jackson: Follow US-127 North to Lansing.  Merge left on I-496 to Downtown Lansing.  Follow I-496 to Grand Ave., exit 7A.  Turn right on Grand Ave., and follow it north to Michigan Ave.  Turn left on Michigan Ave., continue to the first stop sign. Turn left on Washington St., and our building will be on the right.

From Kalamazoo:  Follow I-94 East to the I-69 Lansing/Ft. Wayne exit.  Follow I-69 towards Lansing to the Lansing Road exit, #70.  Follow Lansing Road to I-496 east.  Follow I-496 East to the Pine/Walnut exit #6 which will put you on Main Street.  Follow Main St. to the 4th light, which will be Washington St.  Turn left on Washington St., continue north and our building will be on the left. 

West from Grand Rapids:  Follow I-96 East to Lansing.  Take I-496 to downtown Lansing.  Follow I-496 East to the Pine/Walnut exit #6 which will put you on Main Street.  Follow Main St. to the 4th light, which will be Washington St.  Turn left on Washington St., continue north and our building will be on the left.
